Subject: Enforce Consistent ACL & local Db/Template (copy)
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Application Development
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Always
If you use Application > New Copy to create a template from a Db on a server, and you opt to copy the ACL, and the Db on the server has "Enforce consistent ACL on all replicas" turned on, and you are not listed explicitly in the ACL, it seems you are locked out of the local template entirely.
I don't recall LN working this way in earlier releases. I always thought your access that you had as a member of a group in the ACL would be encapsulated in the local copy. Or, perhaps in earlier releases the "Enforce" checkbox was automatically disabled when you created the copy -- afterall you are not creating a replica. Anyone else surprised by this?
This is unfortunate since you generally want to copy the ACL down to the template, but there's no option to de-check "Enforce consistent ACL" on the little Db Copy dialog box.
I used to use Tamir Ben-Shoshan's excellent AdminACL tool to add me back in on local Db's but alas, it doesn't work for me anymore. A 2-step process will work where you create the template on the DEV server then de-select the "Enforce consistent ACL" then make a local copy of that. Any other work-arounds? TIA.
